So, for what it’s worth, this is God’s teaching to me by His Word on the matter. My question is why do those that speak in tongues do so? Many that practice it say it is a “prayer” language that the Spirit prays as intercessory to God. Romans 8:26,27 God shows us that we don’t have to speak ANY language for the Spirit to intercede for us. God knows ALL languages and we don’t have to speak in any language but the one we understand in our minds and when our words cannot reach the level of His Righteousness, the Spirit intercedes, not with tongues, but with “groanings too deep for words.” Biblical Verses Image
NOw he is deeply damaged and I petition the Lord to continue to work in my own walk and for the soul of my husband …and that of the OW and those children …OUR own children have been deeply wounded too …they have been raised in the Word so I thank the Lord for keeping them in His care despite the way that my husband’s choices have indicated that he did not even think of how this would hurt them as well. Thank you Shirley for your comment. I am not saying in this article that healings still do not occur but the days of just having a shadow passed over someone would heal them. Who do you know that can heal everyone in every instance like the apostles could? If so, they should empty the hospitals or children’s cancer wards. That is my point. God can heal anyone He wants and He can use anyone He wants but He never promises to heal everyone at every time, everywhere. God alone heals. It is not the person who heals but God who enables those to pray for or lay on hands for SOME to be healed but certainly not all. I am not limiting God or putting Him in a box. If you know someone who has the gift of healing, then get a camera, head to the hospitals and children’s cancer wards and empty them…and then I will believe. God does still heal yes, but not everyone. That was the same then, and yesterday, remember Paul prayed three times and was never healed. Scripture Images
My friendship with him dissolved soon thereafter. I no longer felt like this was a teaching I could follow — the Holy Spirit led me away from it. Over the years, I continued to ask questions from time to time of people who I considered filled with the Spirit of God. Time and again, I would receive confirmation that tongues was an edification for the person, not God, and served no valid purpose in the way it is practiced by various Pentecostal and Charismatic churches. I also would encounter those that spoke in tongues. I would usually not react adversely in any way or judge that person, but I still did not feel at peace with it. Now, let me clarify that with the statement that I believe if God the Spirit DID have a purpose that glorified Him and not the speaker, absolutely, He could bestow such a gift upon him — as He WILLS and for His glory. Are there people that speak in tongues today? I’m sure there are. Does the language always come from God? Hmmm, now that’s a good question and one that is between God and the person doing the speaking.

Dreams are as a result of what your mind dwells on. Dreams are your brain giving picture to your inner thoughts while you sleep. However, for a spirit-led individual, God often uses the medium to communicate (a spirit can only communicate with one), so the Holy spirit communicates with our spirit and our brain (that is led by the spirit), then responds to that communication.
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. My friend can see spirit beings or ghosts. She can also see something that yet hasn’t happened. For example; she can just sitting on the couch watching tv and suddenly an image (vision) of an event (that happen to someone else not her) appear right in front of her and she doesn’t know why she see it but then it becomes a reality later. She said she’s not comfortable with her ability because sometimes what she can see is something that she doesn’t wanna know or someone’s privacy. What do you think about this? DO you consider this is a gift? thankyouu so much and I apologise for my English. I hope it’s good enough
"Three times in a year all your males shall appear before the LORD your God in the place which He chooses, at the Feast of Unleavened Bread and at the Feast of Weeks and at the Feast of Booths, and they shall not appear before the LORD empty-handed. "Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which He has given you.

Again my Brother my hearts desire is for believers to be taught and led by the Spirit of God so the can experience the word of God as a tangible reality. That is why I believe the Bible and know it is the word of God. I know it is important that everything must line up with scripture. But many things we believe are not written in the Bible like the word “trinity” but we all know there is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Another example one time last month I was reading Hebrews chapter 10. In verse 10 it tells us that we have been sacntified once and for all by the offering up of the body of Jesus. This sounds wonderful But verse 14 says that we have been perfected forever. I started to question that because I can see so many imperfections in my life. Then the Holy Spirit told me that my sanctification has perfected me and everything in my life for God ‘s calling upon my life.

Hi Jerry…Okay if I am not misunderstanding what you are asking, wanting to know why so many Christians are against the modern practice of tongue while they easily accept the other gifts of the spirit, the simplest answer is that the time for tongues as a gift benefiting the church has past with pentecost. As Pastor Jack said many time before, this was a signs gift given to glorify God and prove Christ deity! Just like so many big in your face miracles like the feeding of the loaves and fish. These things proved to the Jews and the gentiles that Christ was the son of God. It was also necessary for the spreading of the word and the formation of the new church. This is why it was never to be used in public without an interpreter…It was so that foreigners could understand what was being preached and to provide prophesy. The reason we do not practice it today is because it is simply not needed in the modern church. The time of prophesy has ended and we are in the time of the fulfillment of prophesy for the coming of the end times. We can preach in any language needed either because we have ministers of all nationalities and in most every country, or we can use interpreters. Miracles do still happen and so they are still a valid church gift of the Spirit but even those have changed…We have miracles happen all around us if we open our eyes and accept God, we can see them. However we no longer need the parting of seas, etc. We don’t need big signs to say see God is real…believe! The bible tells us that once the church was established and Christ had returned to his father, we are to believe by faith, not signs. When big churches tell people they must speak in tongues to show salvation, that is not biblical teaching. Also the fact they have no interpreters is not biblical. Finally the fact that many times they are in a frenzy and babbling in no actual language is not biblical, not of God, and sometimes possibly of the enemy not God! God is never the Lord of confusion! With that said, the bible says if it is done in private ( such as in your own Prayer life), because it can not be translated, it is to remain between you and God! I won’t say it could not happen in private but than that makes it a personnel experience and therefore not a gift of the Spirit…Gift of the spirit are not for personnel edification! So as long as this is not happening in church without proper interpretation, than that is between you and God. The other gift that are not signs gifts are still in use/effect today because they have a place in the edification of the whole church. I am sure that if you have tongues as a private gift, you still have one or two more gifts that fall into the catagory of Gifts of the Spirit which are still needed and used validly within the church today! However, the most important gift should be seen within all believers and that is thee most important Fruit of the Spirit…Charity/Love…That which we are all to be known by! Scripture Images

"Accept these things from them, that they may be used in the service of the tent of meeting, and you shall give them to the Levites, to each man according to his service." So Moses took the carts and the oxen and gave them to the Levites. Two carts and four oxen he gave to the sons of Gershon, according to their service, and four carts and eight oxen he gave to the sons of Merari, according to their service, under the direction of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest. But he did not give any to the sons of Kohath because theirs was the service of the holy objects, which they carried on the shoulder. The leaders offered the dedication offering for the altar when it was anointed, so the leaders offered their offering before the altar. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Let them present their offering, one leader each day, for the dedication of the altar." Now the one who presented his offering on the first day was Nahshon the son of Amminadab, of the tribe of Judah; and his offering was one silver dish whose weight was one hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan of ten shekels, full of incense; one bull, one ram, one male lamb one year old, for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for the sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, five male lambs one year old. This was the offering of Nahshon the son of Amminadab. On the second day Nethanel the son of Zuar, leader of Issachar, presented an offering; he presented as his offering one silver dish whose weight was one hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan of ten shekels, full of incense; one bull, one ram, one male lamb one year old, for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for the sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, five male lambs one year old. This was the offering of Nethanel the son of Zuar. On the third day it was Eliab the son of Helon, leader of the sons of Zebulun; his offering was one silver dish whose weight was one hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan of ten shekels, full of incense; one young bull, one ram, one male lamb one year old, for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for the sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, five male lambs one year old. This was the offering of Eliab the son of Helon. On the fourth day it was Elizur the son of Shedeur, leader of the sons of Reuben; his offering was one silver dish whose weight was one hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan of ten shekels, full of incense; one bull, one ram, one male lamb one year old, for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for the sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, five male lambs one year old. On the fifth day it was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai, leader of the children of Simeon; his offering was one silver dish whose weight was one hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan of ten shekels, full of incense; one bull, one ram, one male lamb one year old, for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for the sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, five male lambs one year old. This was the offering of Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai. On the sixth day it was Eliasaph the son of Deuel, leader of the sons of Gad; his offering was one silver dish whose weight was one hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan of ten shekels, full of incense; one bull, one ram, one male lamb one year old, for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for the sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, five male lambs one year old. This was the offering of Eliasaph the son of Deuel. On the seventh day it was Elishama the son of Ammihud, leader of the sons of Ephraim; his offering was one silver dish whose weight was one hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering; one gold pan of ten shekels, full of incense; one bull, one ram, one male lamb one year old, for a burnt offering; one male goat for a sin offering; and for the sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, five male lambs one year old. Hi Roger, I would like to talk to you on Skype or yahoo messenger if possible. I have not been on here for a while but postings on here automatically comes to my mail and i read some of your postings which are really Spirit inspired. We might be able to talk and encourage each other. If you get this posting and writes back to me that is a good sign, however, if you are not able to, that is fine because Jesus is in charge. My email is williberk @ yahoo.com. Hope to hear from you. You can add me on Skype or yahoo messenger or something.

Paul wants to make clear that we should not elevate one gift over another but esteem each and necessary for the completeness of the Body of Christ as Paul says in I Corinthians 12:12-23, “Now if the foot should say, ‘Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,’ it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body. What biblical or theological evidence is there that tongues have ceased? First, the gift of tongues was a miraculous, revelatory gift, and the age of miracles and revelation ended with the apostles. The last recorded miracles in the New Testament occurred around A.D. 58, with the healings on the island of Malta (Acts 28:7-10). From A.D. 58 to 96, when John finished the book of Revelation, no miracle is recorded. Miracle gifts like tongues and healing are mentioned only in 1 Corinthians, an early epistle. Two later epistles, Ephesians and Romans, both discuss gifts of the Spirit at length—but no mention is made of the miraculous gifts. Scripture Images
Hi Deanna…In my experience I would say for a Christian to hear these things the answer is no. They come from Satan and the only way a Christian would hear or see these thing would be if it were a form of attack, not a gift. From experience, Spiritual attacks are scary stuff and not a gift at all! These things usually happen to discourage the believer from following the faith and lead them astray…from the path God wishes for them. I have known them to occur people who have been involved in things of the occult and they were attacked as they found their faith. Satan didn’t want them to go to God! Other times, Ministers and those who are currently being used by God for something, have been attacked spiritually in such ways. However Spiritual attack can come in many forms, not just the supernatural scary stuff. In my case, as I learn how to repel one type of attack, Satan hits me the next time with something stronger and unfamilar. He is not very nice as I am sure you know and will try anything to keep us from full filling Gods plan. Biblical Verses Image
"If you happen to come upon a bird's nest along the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, and the mother sitting on the young or on the eggs, you shall not take the mother with the young; you shall certainly let the mother go, but the young you may take for yourself, in order that it may be well with you and that you may prolong your days. Anthony…I nearly wept for you in joy…what an answer to prayer. Thank you for sharing this. This makes me so joyful knowing that you will have the Body of Christ there to surround you and be part of that Body. Yes, I too am in awe of God. What are these gifts of the Spirit? How can you know that you have particular gifts of the Spirit? Can others give us an indication of what our gift is? What does the believer do with these gifts in the church? Are some gifts more important than others? Are the gifts of healing still being accessed today by believers? Is the gift of miracles still existent in the church today? Bible Scripture Images
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; ... Bible Scripture Images
Your replies are a great testimony to me of grace as you endeavor to set what the Word says before the reader for consideration. I know that with so many ‘teachers’ that gather a following in the name of Jesus that there are many who have a tenderness and favor toward what is taught as they are convinced of that perspective being truth. I think it is great that people love the teacher they have but there is a need for awareness that we MUST be convinced by what Scripture says rather than leaning upon our own UNDERSTANDING.
This actually has left many of those betrayed feeling like they were the cause of their spouse’s sinful choice! This is not just in the secular world of attempts to ‘fix’ a marriage but also is found in many church counselling paradigms. I have read many testimonies of how frustrated people who have gone to get help who have come away with either useless , cliche advice , or worse , damaging them by lack of wise counsel upon this most difficult issue.

Yesterday, the question came up again for me. Even though I had sought answers and felt that I had found them, I asked God once more to show me the truth. I opened my Bible and went where God led me. 1 Corinthians 12 is Paul talking about all the spiritual gifts. He goes into great detail and spends a little extra time talking about the gift of tongues. He emphasizes that all are an important part of the Body of Christ but goes on to say that not all Spirit-filled Christians possess ALL the gifts but the Spirit apportions them as is the Will of God. Now, in 1 Corinthians 14 Paul goes into more detail about tongues. He is actually warning the Corinthians to NOT use the gift of tongues in a manner that would hinder the unbeliever. Many feel that since they have suffered the adulterous acts of their spouse that they have to divorce or they ‘can’ divorce . That permissive course of action is indeed seen in scripture but if we really love the Lord and want to demonstrate faith do we ‘cut to the chase’ as it were and divorce? Some say so citing the way we are to separate ourselves from unbelievers and unrepentant …all the while forgiving and leaving the door open for repentance.
Well said Roger. I do agree that seminary alone is not enough and too many have attended liberal seminaries. I attended Moody for a master’s and it is the most solid, theologically sound that I know of anywhere. Yes, many who came from seminary’s have strange teachings but so do those with no seminary degrees. I still believe seminary is crucial because there are lessons on interpreting scripture, hermeneutics, exegesis, and so on that help us put into the cultural context and look at the genre and to see whether Scriptures apply to us today. For example, all Scripture is written to us but not all Scripture is written for us. That is, many verses are prescriptive and some are descriptive.

But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many. The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand the judgment arose from one transgression resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the free gift arose from many transgressions resulting in justification. For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
Country music is a wildly popular genre, but there are other sub-genres that could exist beneath it, such as Christian country music (CCM). CCM, sometimes called country gospel or inspirational country, blends the style of country with biblical lyrics. Like country music itself, it is an expansive genre, and no two CCM artists will sound exactly alike.

1 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Biblical Verses Image
They faithfully brought in the contributions and the tithes and the consecrated things; and Conaniah the Levite was the officer in charge of them and his brother Shimei was second. Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, Mahath and Benaiah were overseers under the authority of Conaniah and Shimei his brother by the appointment of King Hezekiah, and Azariah was the chief officer of the house of God. Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the keeper of the eastern gate, was over the freewill offerings of God, to apportion the contributions for the LORD and the most holy things.
But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
It is clear that the gift of healing has ceased because, as in Philippians, Paul was no longer able to heal, even his co-workers. Timothy was suffering stomach problems and frequent infirmities (1 Tim. 5:23) and Paul can’t heal him, doesn’t recommend that he go to a healer in the church, doesn’t send a prayer cloth or a bottle of anointing oil (remember the miracles of some 8 years earlier in Acts 19:11-12).
I agree, Pastor Jack. A number of years ago, I’d say about 15, I was in a transitory time in my life and seeking answers from God. I had reached a point of asking the big WHY? Why are we here, why did you make me, what am I missing? I had been feeling distressed and anxious about my life for a while. One day, I cried out to Him, in my car, and clearly, as if just a whisper, I heard “It’s the love.” Wow. Of course. It’s like something you know, just like you know you have a nose on your face and yet you don’t really notice it all that much in the mirror unless it has a zit on it. In front of me the whole time, interwoven in my life and yet for the first time I really understood that God IS love, God created us because He loved us and He wants us to love Him. He never forces anyone though. Before that, I had a hard time understanding God’s love and how He could possibly love a sinner like me. That was a break through moment in my faith walk. It was a deeper understanding of the nature of our loving God and every day I just keep falling deeper in love with Him. He’s amazing.

I kept up the charade until one day we arrived at someone’s home for a prayer meeting. A place I’d never been. As we walked into the front door, we were met with loud praying by the large group that was in the front room — they were all chanting and uttering what seemed to be other languages or random syllables. The Holy Spirit in me resisted and wanted me out of there. It was as though a huge red flag was being waved and I asked my friend if we could leave. We walked right back out the door.

Hello i’m new to these pages of faith, and i did not look at any of the comments that anyone made, just because i didn’t want it to influence what i was about to say.I was reading what was said about healing and the ability of healing. It is very real and something i have experienced first hand. When i was around the age of 13 i was struck by a car,i was under the car and i was covered in white snow( which contributed to me being here today speaking of this) well i was pulled out by my brother and i stood up from the fright shook myself off as if nothing ever happened. The person that hit me was so scared and looked as if he was about to have a coronary of his own, i assured him that i was fine and not to worry, that he could go home. Well the next day i go to get up from bed and i feel an immense pain in my hip when i went to move my legs.I yelled for my parents and let them know that i could not walk. They got me dressed(with allot of pain and yelling from me) and took me to the doctor. The doctor exams me, sends me for x-rays(more movement, more yelling from me),the results show that a bone in my hip had been dislocated, and that it was where all my pain was coming. My parents where informed by the doctor that it could go back into place by itself in a couple of days, or that i would have to be operated on,and correct the problem,at the tune of about 6500.my parents didn’t have, or could come up with. I was taken home and we hoped and prayed for a miracle. Well at around this time i had a friend named Richie,he lived across the street from me and he had heard what had happened. It was day two and the pain had not gotten any better, everything i did was extremely unpleasant. My friend Richie was over and he saw what i was going through and suggested i go to his church and have the congregation pray over me. At the time i thought this was a little crazy, but i was also curious because my friend had mentioned this to me and i found it odd that he believed this could help. I waited two more days, decided i would take him upon his offer and go to his church, i was carried into his car driven to the church, and carried to the front of the pues by the pulpit. I was introduced to the pastor, they asked him if he could have the congregation pray over me,he agreed. When the service was about to begin the pastor introduced me to everyone, and let’s them know that i was a visitor from another church and to welcome me. We had the service and before it was over we get to the point where we pray for the sick.Well when they get to me the pastor tells everyone if they would kneel, and direct all their prayers to the Lord for me,(i have always been christian, and a believer, but have never witnessed anything like this before)the pastor lays his hand on my head ,and my hip and they pray. The truth of this story is that i felt an energy of happiness, and a tingling sensation in my affected area,my whole body felt this incredible feeling. I was then told to stand up and walk, but in my heart it was not the pastors voice that was telling me but the voice of my lord.Tears of joy from me ,and praises to Jesus from everyone,i was walking with no hint of pain or discomfort. I had been healed by my father that day, and i believe the power of prayer , and my faith in him is what made me walk out of their…PRAISE JESUS ,PRAISE THE LORD… Bible Scripture Images
Since I learned that the thoughts that came to mind which were scripture were actually the way that the Spirit of GOD ‘spoke ‘ to me and that the whole word of GOD is God’s VOICE in how HE teaches us by His spirit then I became free of the way others’ who seemed to have more authority were my teachers. Lifting up men is not useful and oftentimes is destructive . This is where the false teachers take advantage for their own agendas.

I have struggled with this question, literally, for years — at least 30, I would say. It began with an experience that occurred when I was friends with a young man who was Charismatic and was, he, himself, very charismatic! He introduced me to the concept of speaking in tongues. He did it himself and encouraged me to do so as well. As I look back on it, I felt like he PRESSURED me to speak in tongues, making me feel like I was missing something if I didn’t. It made me feel inadequate as a Christian and I so wanted to be fulfilled by everything the Spirit had to offer, yet, somehow, I could just not muster a syllable. Then one evening, we had a small prayer group of mostly his friends that I had become acquainted with and they laid hands on me. I opened my mouth and out spilled this gobbledy-gook of words that I knew in my heart I was just making up so that I could prove to them that I had the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I felt shame, not joy. I continued to fake it, questioning the depth of my faith and why the Spirit was not giving me this gift. Biblical Verses Image
Hi Jerry, Thank you for your great response. I have no doubt that the Spirit moves you in your prayer to speak in tongues. Paul said he spoke in tongues more than all of them. I just don’t happen to have that gift. I also don’t think that I have a gift of miracles either. I have some other gifts that are very strong, however, and I am prayerfully seeking His will. That is not to say that at some point God might bestow a gift of tongues upon me if it was His will and was for His glory. I read Pastor Jack’s response as well and will restate that not all people have all gifts. Paul was very clear about that point. A day may come when God needs me to speak to someone whose language I don’t know, I have no doubt that He would use me as He needed me and I would speak in tongues, as I am His willing vessel. In Isaiah 55:8-11 God tells us His thoughts and ways are not the same as His. His thoughts and ways are so much higher than our own, will accomplish what He pleases, and prosper in the purpose for which He has sent. Our problem as humans is that we often receive the word according to what we think it says, trying to get it to accomplish what we please, for our purposes. But when we are learning from the Holy Spirit in reading the word, or are taught by a vessel being used by Him, we will be able to go out with joy and be led forth with peace.

He really began to assert his independence covered by ‘transparent’ LYING after our first child was born and his mom died. He had a brief emotional adulterous relationship with a woman at work that I discovered and I took action to go to her and relate to her that God’s best man for any woman would not be another woman’s wife. I ministered and prayed with her …she then called me to apologize and quit her job and left town …I was not until just lately I found out that she was a married woman ! SO my husband has never been transparent and still is not being so . He simply does not have the ‘skills’ to call upon himself to be truthful . Bible Scripture Images
The gift of healing has been a controversial one (v 9). Some “faith healers” claim to have this gift yet have often been exposed to be frauds by undercover reporters. Many of those “healed” have been interviewed prior to their supposed healing. Some tap the power of positive thinking to convince them that they are healed. Others have even used “scam artists” or actors to portray someone that has been healed from an infirmity that they never actually had. This gift was more prominent in the New Testament church to confirm that Jesus Christ’s name had power and that God was working in the church. I am not saying that people are still not healed today but the days of having someone’s shadow passing over them and they are instantly healed is over. The gift of healing may be in relations to the power of prayer and we know that the effectual prayer of a righteous man or woman can accomplish miracles (James 5:16). In any event, we must attribute any healing that is done is “…by that one Spirit“ and not by humans (v 9). Scripture Images
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned-- for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.read more.
Since D Day he has been on the downward slide in every aspect of life. Depressed , hopeless, continuing to see the children he had with the OW but ‘hates’ her and himself for what they did ….14 years of lying ,cheating , stealing as he bought her a house and new Lexus and has drained all of our savings and gone into deep debt ,..which also was a result of the economic crisis of our country.
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
NO one is saying the gifts are not here anymore, but you but the Greek word for tongues does not refer to an unknown language (the word “unknown” is not in the original manuscripts) but we can agree to disagree. Paul said not all spoke in tongues and in the Book of Acts, we see this disappearing, although God is God and does whatsoever He pleases. I never wrote “you can’t have them today” so you are totally wrong about that, but we are still brothers or sisters, regardless, but sadly, I think it’s easy to put more emphasis on the gifts than it is the Gift Giver. For example, two churches I visited, believe that unless you speak in tongues, you are not filled with the Spirit. Some even go so far as to say, you are not saved if you’ve never spoken in the tongues. Then there are miracle healers who are quite different from Jesus. Jesus would tell the person who was healed to tell no one about it, but today “miracle healings “ are on TV, posted on You Tube, and flaunted by some ministries, but most say nothing about the gospel of the kingdom of God, which Jesus said includes repentance and faith (Mark 1:14-15), or about the fruits of the Spirit. Jesus said there are at least two ways we can know who is and who isn’t His disciple; by their love for one another (John 13:34-35) and by their fruits (Matt 7:15-20). James said that a faith with no works is a dead faith, or not genuine saving faith at all (James 2:14-16). Even though we’re not saved by works (Eph 2:8-9), we are saved to do works (Eph2:10), but even these works are from God and to His glory, so why would we ever put more emphasis on the gifts of the Spirit than the fruits of the Spirit? Why are gifts of the Spirit often elevated over the fruits of the Spirit? In a few cases, they overshadow the giver of those gifts, and that is God Himself, from which all good things come (Psalm 107:9).

The second church I attend everyone is very friendly. Usually for 30 minutes the Church has songs and its beautiful songs. After the first 30 minutes the Pastor will talk. Then at the end music will be in the background and I have noticed the pastor really glamorizes about speaking in tongues and about the holy ghost. At first I use to feel like I was not Christian enough because I have never spoken in tongues. Bible Scripture Images

The book of Acts show many examples of new Christians receiving the Spirit and speaking in tongues, but it also speaks of people believing the gospel without this experience. I don’t believe that one who does not “speak in tongues” is not indwelt by the Holy Spirit which we all receive when we are born again. I also don’t believe the tongues described in Acts chapter 2 and the tongues spoken of in 1st Cor. 12-14. You say that Paul was reproving the Corinthian church for using tongues in a pagan way. The scriptures do not say this. I believe Paul was telling them this and all other gifts were to be used for the edifying of the church and if others could not understand what was being said it would not edify them. Or if an unbeliever would come into a meeting with several people speaking in tongues they would think the church was a bunch of lunatics. Paul says that whoever speaks in an unknown tongue should pray for the interpretation of it so the church could be edified. Tongues described in 1stCor. Is a gift where believer can pray to God “spirit to Spirit” 1Cor. 14:14-15. I do not believe these tongues were meant to be understood by the human mind. Biblical Verses Image
