Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God. For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry. With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you; but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. ...
When Samuel was seeking who would be the king of Israel, He had all of Jesse’s sons pass before him and time after time, Samuel thought that surely one of these young men would be the next king.  Some were tall and muscular but that was not God’s standard.  Jesse didn’t call David who was what we might call the “runt of the litter” but God said that He looks not on the outward appearance but what is inside.  He doesn’t have regard for what a person’s looks are like but He looks at the heart because the most important attributes of a person are never what we see but the things we don’t see and what we cannot see, God can.  That’s all that really matters. She had also ‘researched’ how to be a ‘single mom by choice’ ….! These who decide they have reproductive ‘rights’ are deeply deceived and now the two children suffer as she is not attentive to them and often leaves them alone for long periods of time even though the youngest has epilepsy. They were her ‘ticket’ for financial support so that she has not worked any full time since but does not use the money we give in ways that would be for the children as it was intended.
Roger, I don’t understand “I am a married man and six months before my wedding day, during a time of prayer, the Holy Spirit told me “whatever you want from your wife, you have to love it out of her, and no matter how she may act your only response is to be love.” If you can please show me where this is stated in the Bible?” and in particular, are you wanting to know where this is found in the Bible? It is no where that I know of. The Great Commission is central to the mission of Christians but yet a person’s first and most important earthly ministry is to his or her family. Central to the Christian’s life is that of the Great Commission to take the gospel to the whole world, even if it’s next door. Repentance, confession, sanctification, and trusting in Christ are the essentials to what we learn from the Bible and so, although I do not disagree with what you are saying, the main thing is to keep the main thing, the main thing, and that is Christ died for sinners and to rescue them from hell fire. Agree?

Hope everything else is well. I spent last night in the ER. After a month of wheezing nightly and no voice, I finally got voice back yesturday, still wheezy but not as bad. I was so excited. Then about 3/4 thru my shift we lost all our staffing and I spent 1 1/2 hrs running my tail off…I was running 3 self check, a reg. register, had a constant code 3, and customers screaming at me to move faster while demanding managers who were not available. When it ended my voice was gone, I was gasping for air, coughing, and wheezing very loud. I then hear a man asking me how long I have been like this. I tell him I have just been diagnosed with what they believe to be adult onset asthma and have been having issues with breathing nightly and no voice for a month. He informs me he has asthma and he can hear me standing acrossed the room. That my eyes are buldging, skin color bad, and showing the sign of not getting enough air. Ask about my inhaler which I took two hrs before and had not helped at all. Says the voice is due to airway obstruction and by the way he is an er nurse one step from his PA license. He tells me to get to er and tell them I am acute and past stage inhaler will work. I need nebulizer treatment and not to take no for an answer. I tell him I can’t afford it and he responds…can you afford a 25,000 bill if you survive when you black out and if you don’t kill yourself or somebody else cause you do it while driving? Then tells me that it is not understood that putting in an airway on asthmatics who have closed up is not easy and not always possible. So I finally gave in when he threatend to return in a few days and pitch a scene if I tell him I have not been to er. Been asking God why I am not better so how do I argue when apparently God sent free medical advice to me at work while I was having a bad attack.
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Hello i’m new to these pages of faith, and i did not look at any of the comments that anyone made, just because i didn’t want it to influence what i was about to say.I was reading what was said about healing and the ability of healing. It is very real and something i have experienced first hand. When i was around the age of 13 i was struck by a car,i was under the car and i was covered in white snow( which contributed to me being here today speaking of this) well i was pulled out by my brother and i stood up from the fright shook myself off as if nothing ever happened. The person that hit me was so scared and looked as if he was about to have a coronary of his own, i assured him that i was fine and not to worry, that he could go home. Well the next day i go to get up from bed and i feel an immense pain in my hip when i went to move my legs.I yelled for my parents and let them know that i could not walk. They got me dressed(with allot of pain and yelling from me) and took me to the doctor. The doctor exams me, sends me for x-rays(more movement, more yelling from me),the results show that a bone in my hip had been dislocated, and that it was where all my pain was coming. My parents where informed by the doctor that it could go back into place by itself in a couple of days, or that i would have to be operated on,and correct the problem,at the tune of about 6500.my parents didn’t have, or could come up with. I was taken home and we hoped and prayed for a miracle. Well at around this time i had a friend named Richie,he lived across the street from me and he had heard what had happened. It was day two and the pain had not gotten any better, everything i did was extremely unpleasant. My friend Richie was over and he saw what i was going through and suggested i go to his church and have the congregation pray over me. At the time i thought this was a little crazy, but i was also curious because my friend had mentioned this to me and i found it odd that he believed this could help. I waited two more days, decided i would take him upon his offer and go to his church, i was carried into his car driven to the church, and carried to the front of the pues by the pulpit. I was introduced to the pastor, they asked him if he could have the congregation pray over me,he agreed. When the service was about to begin the pastor introduced me to everyone, and let’s them know that i was a visitor from another church and to welcome me. We had the service and before it was over we get to the point where we pray for the sick.Well when they get to me the pastor tells everyone if they would kneel, and direct all their prayers to the Lord for me,(i have always been christian, and a believer, but have never witnessed anything like this before)the pastor lays his hand on my head ,and my hip and they pray. The truth of this story is that i felt an energy of happiness, and a tingling sensation in my affected area,my whole body felt this incredible feeling. I was then told to stand up and walk, but in my heart it was not the pastors voice that was telling me but the voice of my lord.Tears of joy from me ,and praises to Jesus from everyone,i was walking with no hint of pain or discomfort. I had been healed by my father that day, and i believe the power of prayer , and my faith in him is what made me walk out of their…PRAISE JESUS ,PRAISE THE LORD… Bible Scripture Images
Sadly, many people will look at us and judge us by appearances and as we’ve already read, they can miss-read us because they don’t see what’s on the inside which is what is of ultimate importance.  Jesus said “You judge by human standards; I pass judgment on no one” (John 8:15).  Every time that someone looks at us and they judge us by appearances, they are judging us by human standards and very likely miss-judging us.  What they can’t see is what is most important anyway.  The religious leaders of Jesus’ day were only concerned with what people saw them doing but God knew their hearts and saw that they were inwardly full of sin. For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. When you turn to the prison epistles, the four letters written shortly after the end of the Book of Acts, while Paul was a prisoner in Rome—Ephesians, Colossians, Philemon and Philippians…and we find that there is not one word about tongues, or the gift of healing. Even where we might have expected Paul to write of tongues in the passage about being “filled with the Spirit” in Ephesians 5:17, he has nothing to say about tongues. And as for the gift of healing, we read of a co-worker of Paul’s, Epaphroditus, who fell seriously ill during this time (Phil. 2:25-30) and Paul no longer had the gift of healing, and was no longer able to heal as he did only a few years earlier in Acts 28:9. The sign gifts were no longer operating at the time that Paul wrote the Prison Epistles.

Each and every believer has been given by the indwelling of the Spirit of God, gifts of the Spirit (Acts 2:38).  In Acts chapter 8 and in 1 Corinthians chapters 12-14 we see external gifts of the Holy Spirit. They were not gifts that they have been developed by human capacities, therefore the believer has absolutely no right to brag on these gifts. If we exalt in our gifts, we are taking credit for something that we have not earned ourselves. It is like taking credit for a gift you receive on your birthday. It is just that; a gift that was not yours but given to your freely and it is given apart from any inherent capabilities that you have within you. It is not like changing the old hymn from How Great Thou Art to How Great I Am.
What happened next truly changed my life. As I was working up the courage to do what I knew I had to do, I felt in my presence beside me, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit said to me; “If you do this I WILL take you home to be with me. But, before you do, think about the impact on your two sons. Who will finish raising them? My ex-wife is an unbeliever, and I KNEW that they would grow up without the knowledge of our Jesus and our Father. Through many tears, I gently laid the pistol back in it’s drawer, laid down in bed, and proceeded to speak to Abba in a spiritual language I had never heard before, for the space of about two hours. Never had done this before. I speak in tongues quite a bit since. I received the gift of speaking in tongues, and interpreting spoken tongues that night. I didn’t seek the gift, but if Abba wanted me to have it, I will certainly not reject it. Bible Verse Wall Art
